Operational science can combine physical and social science into a well-integrated decision-support system for water resources management that is responsive to stakeholder needs. We developed an integrated platform, along with properly embedded interfaces, that allows users who lack specialized computer skills to test alternative land-use changes, explore and compare socio-economic analyses, and gauge public action-reaction. This platform allows advancements beyond current approaches, in part, because of bidirectional flow of information and knowledge between researcher and practitioner. This provide an excellent ground for mix of partnerships and problem-solving approaches.
